FREE/GRATIS English as a Second Language

English as a Second Language is a basic ESL program for adults who want to learn and develop English skills and prepare for U.S. Citizenship. It provides four levels of teacher-directed instruction: Beginning Low, Beginning High, Intermediate Low, and Intermediate High.  

 

 

STEPS TO ENROLL IN A ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASS (ESL)

Step 1:  Come to Room 17B, the ESL Registration Office at LBSA. Bring with you a government issued photo ID, such as a Driver's Licence, Consulate ID, Visa or Embassy papers. We do not accept F-1 or I-20 Visas.  Step 2: Take a placement test to determine class level.  Step 3: Fill out required registration forms. Step 4:  Commit to attending your ESL Class with 80% or higher attendance.  For more details about the ESL classes that LBSA offers, click the blue program tab on the left side of the homepage.

 

 

Fall Semester Classes: September 10, 2018 - January 24, 2019

4-day-a-week classes:  Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday -Thursday

       9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.

      12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

       6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  

 

 

Registration Information

 

Placement Test for Fall Registration:

Before Fall Registration, take a placement test to determine class level:  ESL Office, Room17B

 

Wednesday, August 29:  10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Thursday, August 30:  9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  

 

 

Fall Registration:

1.  Register in person.

2.  No online registration for ESL classes.

3.  All ESL classes are free.

4.  Register for Fall Enrollment:  ESL Office, Room 17B
 

Tuesday, September 4:  9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Wednesday, September 5:  9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  and  5 - 7 p.m.

Thursday, September 6:  10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
 

 

Open enrollment during the semester as space permits.
