Registration Information
Our Main Office is located at 3701 East Willow St. LB 90815. Office hours are Monday - Tuesday 9 am - 7 pm & Fridays 9 am - 4 pm when classes are in session. When students are not in class office hours are Mon - Fri 9 am - 4 pm.
Student registration will require a photo ID for alignment with LBUSD campus safety policy and a working email and phone number for ongoing home/school communication. If you do not have a working email, you may set-up a free email during registration. All students will be required to sign the Student Attendance and Behavior/Dress/Disciplinary Action Policies. Policies are available on the LBSA website at www.lbschools.net/lbsa and will be reviewed during orientation. Registration is first-come, first-served, current students have priority registration 4 days following the end of the term. Steps to enroll in a Career Technical Education Class, Animal Care or Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.)
Step 1: Each prospective CTE student will need to come to the Adult School, at the Willow St. location. Students will fill out required enrollment paperwork. Step 2: If the class has a fee, pay for the class. We accept cash, debit or credit. (Payments Plans are available.) To find out more details about the cost and requirements of each class, click the blue program tab on the left side of the homepage. Spring enrollment start Jan 10, 2022. Not all CTE students have to take assessment tests but CTE Classes other than C.N.A. hold their orientation's the first class session..
Steps to enroll in a English as a Second Language Class (ESL)
If you want to take morning or afternoon classes you will need to call for an appointment (562) 595-8893. Step 1: Bring with you a government issued photo ID such as Driver's License, Consulate ID, Visa or Embassy papers. We do not accept F-1 or I-20 Visas. Step 2: Take a placement test to determine class level. Step 3: Fill out required registration forms . Step 4: Commit to attending your ESL Class with 80% or higher attendance. For more details about the ESL classes that LBSA offers click the blue program tab on the left side of the homepage. We have on-going registration for our ESL classes through out the year. If space is available then a student could be enrolled, if not they will be put on a wait list.
Steps to enroll in High School Diploma (HSD), High School Equivalency preparation (HiSET) or Adult Basic Education (ABE) Programs
Registration for these classes will take place at the Willow St. campus. Step 1: Attend Orientation and complete all Assessment tests . See the Orientation and Assessment Schedule by clicking the blue tab on the left side of the homepage. Step 2: Complete the registration process by setting up a LBSA account. Step 3: Complete all assessment tests to determine program placement. Step 4: Once placement level is determined, you will be enrolled in the appropriate class or placed on a waiting list. Step 5: If enrolled, you will be given a class orientation date and start date for your program. Step 6: Attend the class orientation for your program. Students who do not attend the class orientation will be dropped. All Orientations start on time, NO student will be allowed to enter an orientation after it has begun.
Please save at least 2 hours to complete the Orientation and Assessment process. Enrollment process must be completed before you can start attending class.
We have on-going registration during the year as space permits. When a wait list gets to 25 students we refer all new comers out to other adult schools
Attendance is very important, a 80% attendance rate is required for all LBSA classes.
