We have on-going enrollment for all ESL classes as space permits. For morning, afternoon and evening classes call 562-595-8893 for an appointment to come in and register.
All classes are in person at this point but we do offer packet pickup for those who do not want to be in-person.
FREE/GRATIS English as a Second Language
English as a Second Language is a basic ESL program for adults who want to learn and develop English skills and prepare for U.S. Citizenship. It provides four levels of teacher-directed instruction: Beginning Low, Beginning High, Intermediate Low, and Intermediate High. A new level 5 transition class will be offered this Fall.
STEPS TO ENROLL IN A ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASS (ESL)
Daytime ESL classes: Morning classes are held from 9 - 12 pm and afternoon classes are held 12:15 - 2:15 pm. Evening classes are 6 pm - 9 pm.
Step 1: Call for an appointment. Bring with you a government issued photo ID, such as a Driver's License, Consulate ID, Visa or Embassy papers. We do not accept F-1 or I-20 Visas.
Step 2: Take a placement test to determine class level.
Step 3: Fill out required registration forms.
Step 4: Commit to attending your ESL Class with 80% or higher attendance. For more information call our Willow Street Campus at 562-595-8893, Office hours are Mon- Thurs 9 am to 12 pm.
ESL evening office hours are Mon and Tues evenings, 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
