The CNA program is a 9 week course that meets Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM in B15 classroom/simulation lab with Registered Nurse Mrs. Stanek as the  instructor.  After approximately 3 weeks of classroom instruction students are placed in a clinical setting Tuesday - Friday for the next 6 weeks. Mondays are reserved for continued classroom instruction to support the hands on training received during clinical hours. Students must meet class standards for both classroom and clinical work as well as attendance. Students are eligible to take the California State CNA exam upon successful completion of the program. The State test is an additional cost of $100Other items needed are 2 Navy Blue Uniforms, One Pair of white Tennis Shoes, one watch with a sweeping second hand. Also required are a Social Security Card, current California ID, Drivers License or passport, TB clearance and Physical clearance.   All students must obtain a seasonal Flu vaccination.                                                                    


The Long Beach School for Adults CNA students earn articulated units toward the LVN program at Long Beach City College.  Enrollment for the CNA program is ongoing, meaning applicants may enroll anytime during the school year for the next upcoming Nursing Assistant course.  Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so applicants are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible. At this time only 15 students will be enrolled in each session. Students must have a clear criminal record and will be live scanned fingerprinted in the classroom before starting clinical .          No refunds will be given after the second day of Class.


Steps to enroll in Certified Nurses Assistant Program

Step 1:  Each prospective CTE student needs to come in to the Adult School Main Office B-1 to fill out required enrollment  paperwork.  Step 2: Pay for the class. We accept cash, debit or credit. (Payments Plans are available.)  Spring 2019  enrollment for CTE Classes is on-going until all sections are full.  CTE students do not take an assessment test, and orientation for the class is given the first class session.                                                                                                                            


Spring Registration begins: January 14th 2019,     Any student coming to enroll after a session has begun will be enrolled in the next session.  No students will be enrolled in a session after the first day. LBSA regular office hours are 9 am- 6:30 pm Monday - Thursday and Fridays 9 am - 4 pm.  When classes are not in session the office closes at 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday.



Session 1  August 29 - October 31  ( First Session enrollment is full as of 8/14/18)

Fees: Total Due $1,500: $500 due at registration  + $500 due by Sept 28, 2018  + Last payment of $500 due Oct 26, 2018


Session 2  November 1 - January 25  (Second session enrollment is full as of 8/28/18)

 Fees: Total Due$1,500: $500 due at registration  + $500 due by Dec 7, 2018  + Last payment of $500 due Jan 11, 2019


Session 3  January 28 - April 2

Fees: Total Due $1,500: $500 due at registration  + $500 due by Feb 22, 2019  + Last payment of $500 due Mar 22, 2019


Session 4  April 3- June 13  

 Fees: Total Due $1,500: $500 due at registration  + $500 due by May 10, 2019  + Last payment of $500 due June 7, 2019 

Other items needed are 2 Navy Blue Uniforms, One Pair of white Tennis Shoes, one watch with a sweeping second hand, testing fee for NNATP  $100. Also required are a Social Security Card, California ID, TB clearance and Physical clearance.
